Cure for the Fever by Mindfucking Cure for the Fever by Mindfucking
I do not really consider this one a real "deviation" in the sense of "piece of art", but prefer to think about it as a kind of experiment, a training to improve my skills with Photoshop. I found some beautiful pieces of stock and cut/pasted them together; so this came out.

The concept is simple: fever and its cure.

You can retrace some aspects of the fever in the temperature: those high pillars of gas and the strong haze give the idea of vapor (sweat) and heat.
Certainly, the attitude of the girl can be explained in this way (her colours are also very similar to those of the environment, like she were a parte of the fever itself).

A cure for the fever: rest.
One night, while I had fever and a headache, I took my medicine and tried to sleep; in the overcoming dreams, my brain tried to represent the physical pain through a sensorial image of me stretching among some prominent gravitational streams.

Another cure for the fever: energy.
Vitamin C is certainly a good way to cure/avoid the fever, for it strenghten your immunitary defense and gives you the energy to face to disease.
I represented this aspect through the bunny: unlike the girl, she seems not to be affected by what is happening; instead, she keeps on being curious and vital, and in this way she gives you a sense of unconscious happiness and vitality (I know it perfectly, because she is actually my bunny and I love to watch her while she runs around the balcony, jumping and playing).

Finally, I chose this background not only for its beauty, but also because the infrared filter someway made the grass look like snow, and the cool gives comfort to the hot.

looks almost like a snowy/infra red photo, good skills getting the muted colour.

only thing i could suggest for blending in the future is your rabbit needs to have the saturation reduced abit and maybe play with the contrast. that way it will fit in with the image perfectly. the woman image looks perfectly blended though

Yeah I agree about the bunny, she had to be a little more "pinkish" and less contrasted. We learn from our past mistakes :D Anyway, the original stock background was already an IR photo (and the model too, maybe òo) but thanks for commenting ^_^

i really love your description of the piece, for you not speaking englilsh very well, you put it rather beautifully. your skills "have" improved very much since i've been your friend here, so i say congratulations to you for your progress.

in fact your art and description of it has provoked an interesting thought... i've always thought of time not in the past or the future but the now.. the right now not yesterday or tomorrow, but its now more obvious to me that the past does have a relevant voice in our "now" and our future, its called -status- if you want to name it, our past is our love for this world and its moments that make up who we are now.
